Their driver Rob Pinder hit my parked vehicle and tried to drive off. It was only because I was stood by it and saw what happened I could make him stop. He said no words, I had no apologies, I was just given a sheet of paper with a phone number on for an insurance company. They’re now ignoring me. I’ve had to repair my vehicle at my own cost and time.

- Good design ruined by poor quality control -
Following my builder’s recommendation and research of my own, I specified Korniche bi-fold doors and a lantern roof-light for my new-build orangery. The Korniche website was good and the local distributor’s samples appeared well designed and manufactured (I’m a retired Chartered Engineer so know what I am looking for). It was very pleasing to be able to ‘Buy British’ for a change.
By contrast, the product delivery was very disappointing: Things started badly when the 2 – 3 week delivery schedule turned into 6 weeks. On the day of delivery to site it was discovered that no glass had been ordered (what kind of window company makes that error?!). This meant the frames had to be installed a week before being glazed hence added costs for my builder (and me) for a second visit by his window fitter.
After installation, I then discovered that the lock on the separate bi-fold door would not turn. Investigation by the fitter revealed that the lock barrel had been drilled through by one of the frame securing screw holes and the screw left loose as it could not be screwed fully home. He was astonished. How did that defect pass Korniche quality control? In addition, no door stay was supplied and it was pure luck the wind did not slam the door against the adjacent masonry.
The lantern roof-light should have been the jewel in the crown but the assembly supplied had four additional frame sections which completely ruin the clean lines shown on the website and in the distributor’s samples. The lantern was well below the maximum size allowed and now looks over-designed. To add insult to injury, the cover plates for the securing screw trough had been cut to completely the wrong sizes – in fact I’m pretty sure offcuts had been supplied. Of course, it will almost certainly be assumed that an end-customer would never see these items unless spring cleaning up a ladder. In fact the angled glass of the lantern reflects a clear view of the sub-standard parts beneath whenever one looks through the lantern! Fortunately, the fitter was able to source some matching uPVC sections which he jointed skilfully and now look perfect – but it should not have been necessary. Worse still, Korniche flatly denied there was a problem.
I acknowledge that my builder, the local distributor and Korniche are all implicated and no doubt will all be blaming each other. However, the quality control issues can be laid at no one’s but Korniche’s own door.

Worst roof lantern ever! I highly recommend to NOT purchase this, it’s a waste of money and you will definitely regret it if you were to buy it whoever designed this lantern deserves to be sued!

I can wholeheartedly say this is the single worst customer service I have ever dealt with and quality control product I have ever had the misfortune purchasing.

2x Bifold doors - every single bead was too long for both doors.
New ones were sent - again too long and damaged underneath wrapping and stickers.
New ones were sent - again too long.

Korniche then reluctantly sent out two operatives to ‘fix’ said issue as they couldn’t believe that they had messed up this many times and were passing the blame onto the fitters.
The Korniche operatives took one look at the beads and doors and threw all of them in the skip as they were all too long

72 beads.
They then took the exact sizes needed (which the computer at the manufacturing station should have done in the first place) and as agreed upon prior, THEY will be back to install the new ones.

The customer is so irate with not only them but us for allowing them to get away with this and is demanding compensation from us for time wasting (3 visits, 3 days off work for him)

I have just received an email from Korniche offering a full new set of beads (4th attempt) £200 compensation but they are back tracking and refusing to go back to site to fit these beads.

I understand within this industry there are sometimes QC issues but the integrity of a company is upheld by how they rectify said issues and treat their customers.

I would never use this company again and I am disgusted about the way they have handled this entire situation.

Side note - Some of the welding on the doors had opened slightly and we were told that this sometimes happens in transit and it’s down to us to knock MECHANICAL WELDS back together with a nylon block on a 3k + bi fold door.

Item arrived on time and in extremely well packaging. The item and ease of fitting just oozes quality. You get what you pay for and this item is worth the money. There are several YouTube videos which are very helpful though lack DETAILED fitting.

I spent a long time researching all manufacturers of roof lanterns prior to starting my project and be guided by my experience when I say you will not be disappointed. The lantern arrived unbelievably well packaged in huge amount of bubble wrap etc and all smaller components came in their own purpose made box individually isolated from each other. Installation guide was very clear and fitting was so simple. The design and thought that has gone into this is exceptional. Only one problem I experienced was damage to a 3 metre glazing closure, this however was due to the courier company, something we have all experienced, and was no reflection on Korniche and with a call, the replacement item was with me next morning. Absolutely delighted.

We ordered 3m long bifold door, delivery was one day late and only one driver not able to even lower the platform down. We struggled to get doors and huge, heavy frame down. One door glass has the inside scratch.

The product is good and looks great, but screw channels sent are short and this is visible from upstairs.

Lots of pedantics with this company trying to resolve a simple issue and even the suggestion that it isn't a big problem. It's essentially their problem as they sent the wrong size.
