Lakes Solar installed solar panels & a battery. They have been excellent throughout the whole process. We knew what to expect & when & we were asked about aspects of the job when they were on site, such as the placing of cables. It was great to be able to visit their showroom so that we could see the kit we would get & ask questions. The whole team have been great to work with & in the house they were very tidy & polite. The job was done on time & to the quote we had. We're very happy with our system & any questions we've had subsequently have been answered promptly & clearly. Follow up after installation has been good. We would absolutely recommend them.

I recently had a 4.4kWh solar /10 kWh battery system installed by Lakes Solar. I’m now into October and haven’t used any electricity from the grid since late July when it was installed. With the lower light / shorter days it is just beginning to draw on the grid and I am deciding whether to switch to an intelligent tariff so that the battery can be charged on cheap electricity overnight. I am very pleased with the system, my aim wasn’t payback periods I was looking to minimise future bills when I will be retired and it is already doing this.
I had Lakes Solar recommended by a colleague as a local firm that could be relied on. Through the process everyone at Lakes Solar was professional and helpful. In getting the quote everything was explained and they were clearly working for the best result and not trying to add more saying to see how it goes as additional panels etc could be added if needed. The installation took one day and they turned up exactly when expected. The fitter were very knowledge, polite and treated my home with respect cleaning everything up and leaving no mess. The installation is very neat and it was good to see them using a tower scaffold to safely get to the roof of my bungalow
I would definitely recommend them from my experience of Lakes Solar with the bonus of supporting a local business which is more bothered about maintaining a good local reputation. They have even been monitoring the performance to ensure it is working as expected

I looked into home solar energy with many firms. The straight forward approach from Lakes Solar was quite refreshing. No overbearing sales pitch offering a "managers special" or " we are offering a discount for June" type of approach. One competitive quote which had all the detail and information I required. A short site visit from a very polite engineer to check for any possible issues. Fitted in two weeks. Scaffold erected, how I had asked for it to be done in the morning, with the engineers following on working hard to get everything finished and up and running by early evening. Early days but so far we are very happy and would recommend Lakes Solar.

I would very highly recommend this company.

Firstly the sales experience was completely different to an alternative company we approached that tried to rush through a quote from explaining the technology, to design to signing the contract in a three hour high pressure home visit.

Lakes Solar were helpful right from the start and in no way ‘pushy’. We were able to get most of the way with the system plans via the Internet and they were on hand to answer queries about the design of the system. We tweaked a few aspects over a few days ending up with a configuration that fitted our needs. Their electrician then did a site visit to confirm there were no show stoppers.

The DNO G99 application was all handled behind the scenes without any issues and no extra costs.

Between ordering the system and it being installed we were able to arrange to have some obstacles on the roof removed. The company didn’t bat an eyelid when I suggested we could then rearrange the configuration to squeeze another panel in the week before installation (at a very fair additional charge). It was all handled in a calm, friendly, relaxed but highly professional way.

Due to the alterations to the design that I’d come up with, a member of the management team, Elliot, came on the first day to assist the installers to double check everything would be spot on. It was great to meet him and he certainly rolled his sleeves up and got stuck into the job, but he needn’t have worried, the lead installer, Matt, was exemplary. Again no drama, just relaxed, competent and highly skilled. Don’t be put off by some young faces! These guys are at the top of their game.

The Lakes Solar installer team were very respectful of our property and we instantly felt at ease watching them work. They make things look very easy because they know exactly what they are doing.

We opted for the bird protection, SolaSkirt, and it was fitted shortly after commissioning and IMO it looks great as well as offering top level of protection.

The system needed some technical tweaks after installation. Matt was on the case and the ongoing technical support is second to none.

Lakes Solar are very experienced ‘Master’ Sun Synk Installers - this is important from the OEM warranty perspective.

The panels and inverter are performing very well. Even with extensive cloud or late on the output is meeting the household needs and battery charging easily. There is ample surplus electricity ready to export when we get that set-up with our energy supplier.

The one thing Lakes Solar doesn't warn you about is how addictive and intriguing the monitoring tech is that allows you to view performance and stats from anywhere.

We have had our Lakes Solar installation for just over 8 months.
The installation experience was beyond exceptional. The team were polite, professional , thorough and extremely tidy workers. Every question I raised was always answered.

After sales support and advice is excellent to say the least and you feel like a valued customer.

As for the performance of the installation. It has performed far better than we could have imagined.

My advice to anyone thinking of installing solar.
1. Only use Lakes Solar
2. Put as many solar panels on your roof as you can afford.

So far I’ve been very impressed with the solar system with storage batteries, we are typically generating more then we use therefore selling back to the grid which is helping offsetting the 'standing charge' every month. It's nice to your doing bit for the planet! But also supporting local at the same time.

I have to admit that it it is highly addictive monitoring the performance and stats using the app to see how much I have generated.

Thanks Lakes Solar for a top notch bit of kit!!!

Very good company! I registered my interest in Solar panels and had an assessment I believe on the day I rang. After a short decision process I went ahead and although the people at Lakes Solar are clearly very busy an installation date was finalised within the following 8 weeks. The whole process of erection of scaffolding (delivered by an associate company in lightning speed) the actual installation was undertaken on the same day and the system was up and running by 17:00 the same day! All very tidily and professionally with the least amount of fuss and disruption. The scaffolding came down the next day. The system is working as it should ever since. All in all a brilliant service at a very reasonable price. In a country where you could wait 2 months to get a plumber this service is almost unreal. Highly recommended.
