We had a heat pump and hot water cylinder installed last November. I waited 'til now to make sure I was completely happy with the whole system. At one point before the install I had cold feet (no pun intended) and cancelled. Dwain called me to chat through my worries, and while he wasn't being in any way pushy or trying to persuade me, in fact he was very reassuring. My main worry had been that the system operated at 48 degrees, and that wouldn't be hot enough. (In fact it's plenty hot enough!)
The survey went well, and we needed about 15 radiators replaced. We also had to have a bespoke hot water cylinder to fit our old (very narrow) airing cupboard; Marvel organised it, it was delivered and works perfectly.
One hiccup: I'd agreed with the surveyor where the pump would go outside; but on the day of the install panicked about the pipe runs, and asked the installers to put it somewhere else - that turned out completely unsuitable. Dwain organised for them to return and move it a couple of weeks later at minimal cost. Entirely my fault - the lesson is, listen to the installers!
The installers were great. Nice chaps, and did excellent, careful work. Right at the end, one of them was insulating the pipes in the cylinder cupboard, and really taking his time to do it beautifully, even though the other two had finished - which led to a bit of teasing, but really showed how much pride they had in their work.
The heat pump is a 14kW Mitsubishi, for a four beroomed semi-detached house. It's great - the house is plenty warm enough. We're on the Octopus Cosy tariff, designed for heat pumps, and even after 4 months (in winter), we've cut our monthly energy bill by £35. (For gas and electric - the gas bill is now negligable. £200 pcm altogether.)
The only downside is the Mitsubishi app, which is quite poorly designed (especially compared to Hive that I had before). Took me some time to puzzle out how to set the timers (but works OK).
Finally worth saying that Marvel are very responsive: any queries I had were answered straight away. If you're thinking of having a heat pump, I'd say go for it, and use this company!

Sadly we will no longer be doing business with Marvel, which is a shame as they have such good reviews on here.

So what happened. We my wife saw one of those on-line adverts to get a quote for solar panels and so gave it a go. I'm not fully sure on how it worked out but we were contacted by Marvel and a visit by one of the sales people was arranged. We only wanted a rough price so we know how much we'd need to save up to get it done. They said that they had to send a sales person out and couldn't quote over the phone. So we made an appointment.

The sales chap comes out, we find out that he's not supposed to be getting sent out for these types of appointments, but as he's there he works out the cost and it's not as bad as I was expecting. All seems good, questions answered and off he goes.

But then he calls us a week later, asking if we are ready to sign up. He seems to think that as he kept suggesting that we can get a good deal loan from Tesco that we can just sign up once we've got that done. Totally failed to understand that when we said we just needed a rough price and we've got a bunch of other things to take care of first, on our house that we bought 6 months ago, and that it would probably be a next year thing for the solar panels.

And then the calls just kept coming to the point where my wife was ignoring the calls and now has finally blocked the number. I'm sorry but nasty sales tactics like that is a total turn off and that's it, we are taking our business elsewhere.

3 stars as the rest of the company might be as good as the reviews claim, but the sales side sucks and needs replacing by people who actually want business, or maybe the commission side of things needs changing so potential customers are hounded to the competition. Oh and having someone available to give a rough quote over the phone would be a plus as well. Hopefully these suggestions will be taken on-board and they become a much better company for people to deal with in the future.

We invested in a heat source pump with Marvel, I can honestly say this is one of the best decisions we have made. The company from the start were professional, thorough and gave us sound advice. The heating system is spot on, I now have even, constant heated rooms now, the advice on the radiators was good and some were changed to reflect the size of the rooms. I can highly recommend this company and it's been part of an investment we made in renewables. Coupled with solar power we had a yearly bill of just £695 for heating, water cooking, etc, out home is south facing which I think makes a difference. Overall excellent experience. The survey was brief and clear, with a price given very quickly. The buying process was simple, and the install date came about quickly (perhaps a little too quickly!) due to another property cancelling.

The installers were excellent, though there was a small delay for the heat pump because we'd brought the install date forward. The team were respectful and communicative and took excellent care of our house. Solar and battery were put in as well, and we got a full walkthrough on everything.

The team have been on hand to answer any questions and we've had the system 18 months now with no complaints. We'd recommend both the system and Marvel

We had our heat pump installed by Marvel just over a week ago now and we are very happy with how the process has gone. The consultation was informative with no pressure to give an order. The walkthrough prior to installation was carried out by experienced heat pump installers who explained the plan and issued a written schedule of works, which we found very helpful. The installation team were pleasant guys who worked quickly, left no mess and did a neat job. Heat pump now working away doing its job, very pleased with how things went.

We had an Air Source Heat Pump, Water Tank and New Radiators supplied and fitted by Marvel Heating in March 2024.From initial enquiry to the final installation of the system, I found the communication with the company professional, knowledgeable and advisory.
The property's design did not lend itself to an 'easy' installation (barn conversion) but with the expert knowledge and skills of the surveyor and engineers involved the routes for pipes and the relocation of a couple of radiators the initial problems were resolved.
Installation was rapid with all the components required delivered promptly ready for the install with no delays for missing items/parts.
The installation engineers were very professional and courteous always concerned that we were happy with the final position of items before proceeding and left the property in a clean and tidy state at the end of each day.
Overall experience with Marvel Heating was excellent from start to finish and we would not hesitate to recommend them to others
