Very friendly staff, they explained everything well and took their time for you. The car was in a good state and took us everywhere we needed to go without problems. My only issue was that you can only return the vehicle when they are open (office hours). This cut our road trip a little short, but otherwise it was fine.

I recently rented a car from McNicoll vehicle hire in mid-February 2023 for a trip to Scotland, and I must say, the experience was absolutely fantastic. From start to finish, the process was made easy and stress-free thanks to the wonderful Depot manager, Rio Fielding.

Rio was incredibly welcoming and reassuring, making me feel comfortable and confident with the rental process. This was my first time renting a car in Scotland, having travelled up from London to see the beauty of Scotland's nature. Rio was more than happy to recommend places to visit and offered some great advice on driving in Scotland.

When we enquired about extending the rental, Rio was once again reassuring and offered us an incredible deal that exceeded our expectations. Her professionalism and attention to detail really made our experience with McNicoll vehicle hire an outstanding one.

Overall, I cannot speak highly enough of McNicoll vehicle hire and the fantastic service provided by Rio Fielding. We rented the car in mid-February 2023 and they definitely gained a customer for life. We will definitely be returning to Scotland in the future and will be using McNicoll vehicle hire again without hesitation.

Highly recommended if you stay at Premier Inn hotel and you want to rent a car. Only 5 minutes away walking from the hotel.
The car was a KIA Niro hybrid and we only spent 40 litres and travelled 950 km.

I had a terrible experience with McNicoll Vehicle Hire. I booked a van on 11th January for collection on 16th January, but it wasn’t ready, wasting a day off work. When I finally used the van on 19th January, it broke down, leaving me stranded for hours.

The situation was poorly handled, causing significant disruption and stress during my house move. I eventually booked a van with Enterprise, and I wish I had chosen them from the start. Their process was smooth, and their customer service was far superior.

If you’re in Edinburgh and need a van, save yourself the hassle and go with Enterprise in Leith. It’s a much better experience.

Excellent service! I hired a van to drive to my wedding venue with all my decor. Collection was seamless, staff are really friendly and knowledgeable. Van was great and excellent value for money. Would definitely use again!
