They came into a commercial restaurant acted like warrant officers, no proof of id no paperwork from our alleged utility company by who they were asked to act on their behalf. Just a letter I could have typed on no legitimate papers to prove any enforced instruction form our utility provider smartest energy.
They picked our lock to enter our premises , no earlier communication, no letters , no correspondence. When our security company called them they said they were warrant officers this was not believable to them and they mentioned they called the police in to have a visit, these apparent officers then fled the scene and did not stay till the police arrived !
This seems so extreme so pick someone lock to check the meters and connections , that’s apparently all they did . Is this legal I highly doubt it is ! How can you pick a lock to get it , we have no debts , this was to check a meter connection !

I look after a village hall in Hertfordshire. I recently changed energy supplier, after which I recieved a letter and phone call to say we had missed payments and were being fined as a result. Mercia Utility Services Ltd, proclaimed to be acting on behalf of Yu energy. Having never beld an account with this energy supplier, and not supplying the meter details which have incurred the supposed fine, I have decided to ignore any further contact with the company.

However, I have made multiple telephone calls to a 0115 number which I just prey doesn't turnout to be a premium number, therefore resulting in a large cost incurred by myself and thus, this method is how Mercia Utility Service Ltd make their money.

Extremely fraudulent company acting illegally and unlawfully entering premises in Scotland without valid permits and proof of identity. This company represent BES utilities whose owner / founder is in jail for fraud. Avoid at all costs. Complete fraudsters.

Agent from Mercia Utility Services claimed he was requesting access to private property to "get a meter reading for OVO" but in fact was lying and handed me a folded piece of paper with an "Intent to gain warranty of entry". Attempting to gain entry to private property under false pretence is a criminal offence
