Michael was a legend from start to finish. Our home is in a conservation area with a number of tough restrictions that were tricky to navigate. Fortunately, Michael had a lot of experience with this and drew up a visual essay that explained to the planners why what we were trying to do with our home would be in line with the architectural dialect of the neighbourhood. He was also excellent at hearing what my wife and I needed and at putting our needs through the sieve of reality as he made his drawings. He produced exceptionally detailed drawings for our project and championed these drawings as the project got built up. He was very very thorough and supported us throughout the entire process. We simply cannot recommend him enough.

We are really pleased with our new extension Michael helped us achieve. It has really transformed our living area and we’ve ended up with quite an impressive space. We would highly recommend Michael to any of our friends planning to extend or modify their homes.

We wanted to extend our living room at the back of our house, single storey, to create a more usable living area. Michael took on the tall task of helping us design and build our new and improved plant based health food cafe in Hitchin Herts in a listed building.
He was incredible at listening to everything that was important to me and everything that needed to be included.
From this he created something functional, and incredibly eye catching.

We cannot recommend Michael highly enough. We had purchased our first property in a conservation area and it needed to be entirely refurbished. He knew exactly what to do with the space and his sympathy for the scale and period of the house managed that difficult line between creating something interesting and light and contemporary that suited us, while still maintaining a relationship with the existing building and restoring the lovely touches that made it a period home.
But it was his practical and thorough approach to the project that we were especially grateful for as new homeowners. He explained each step of the process to us, worked through budgets and timetables, helped with the tendering and our meeting with the conservation officer and handed off an incredibly detailed set of plans to the builders that we used as a bible for the duration of the build. There was no detail too small and he was really committed to getting the project completed to the highest standard possible. His enthusiasm and positive contributions during the build were really what kept us going at points and kept the project on track. It’s obvious that he has a real passion for what he does and getting that kind of energy and drive on a project is so important.
