They have a lot of useful things here and are well stocked and priced reasonably, but the staff are unfailingly grumpy and unhelpful. They even made a rude comment to my daughter who was browsing along the lines of 'do they not have hardware stores where you come from .. ' I was looking for an item today and asked a member of staff to show me where it was- he refused and told me to look in an area- when i couldn't' find it he was not interested. If I need something urgently I will go in but otherwise I will order online from now on..

I visited Musgraves at 12.30pm this morning. Saw the owner think he is known as 'Jonty' as he was at the till area. I said very politely that would he mind getting me a large packet of moisture crystals from downstairs as I had recently broken my shoulder and I was not happy venturing down the stairs as they are situated on the lower floor. He looked at me and did go down the stairs and shouted to me which size did I want and brought the large packet up. I said to him I appreciate that and said you are fitter than me. He sarcastically said 'yes and I am 70!' I was quite taken aback and then replied 'So am I'. I have lived in Windermere for 20 years and go into Musgraves. I know his wife Jill and all the staff have always been so pleasant. I am sorry if he thought I was making an excuse but at the moment I am not able to use my arm as I could and I was just being honest. He was rude and sarcastic. I will not be venturing or purchasing anything from Musgraves again. Did not expect such sarcasm when I would be struggling to go down the stairs. Poor customer service

What a fantastic shop; a proper ironmongers/ hardware shop. Helpful and friendly staff. I found everything I needed and didn't have to buy a large pack of something like you have to in large DIY stores. I was able to by just one of an item where required.

Perfect for DIY and pro hardware. Always seem to find what I need for general home DIY and the staff are perfect. Prices are very good and I've often seen items cheaper than the massive DIY stores in kendal.

Musgraves stock most home and DIY necessities and they mix paint. They don't cut keys.
If they stock what you want, it will be so close to the on-line price as to make an immediate purchase, in the shop, a no-brainer decision, as they say.
