AVOID! I contacted them to help me while I'm struggling, so the advisor helped me very kindly, n told me, I should accept the new tarrif which will be helpful, I did as been told n soon I accepted received a huge bill with £75 as an EARLY LEAVING FEE!!! are they joking me they pretending to help you but actually not, a company with no certain rules or maybe they don't even know what they actually doing? Advisor never warned me about early exit fee, and the most annoying thing is my contract is finishing in 2 months 🙄 I wasn't in a rush nor either wanted to change my tariff they advised me to go for new tariff that will be beneficial? But actually that was beneficial for them not us:(

Was with these for 5 years amd recommend them to friends, them I went on holiday for 3 weeks Submitted reading on return and my bill was the same as previous months? Nothing was on and house empty for 3 out the 4 week month! Contacted them and they wanted to test the meeter but said if it wasn't faulty I would have to pay for test didn't say how much! After many calls that I made I left them and they gave me £30 to close complaint wish I hadn't took it, how can the bill be the same amount as previous month but nothing used for 3 weeks absolute joke and think that they are ripping people off, now with British gas. Very little help from octopus and I would like to do an advert for them on tje radio as I'm not an actor, very poor from such a large company!!!!

Poor communication and regular mistakes. While staff are always polite, friendly and helpful, this is on the occasions you manage to actually get a response. I’m also grateful I never did direct debit because there have been regular charge errors. Can you imagine £1000 meant for £200 flying out my account? It’s a constant worry to verify costs at a time of financial hardship for everyone. The whole process of getting a smart meter has been difficult too. It’s taken weeks and required me to email them to ensure the date/time was definitely confirmed because no confirmation email was ever provided after they said it would arrive. If it wasn’t for their friendly staff, this would be a 1 star review…

I’ve been with Octopus now for just over a year - I absolutely love their ethics and the fact that they are 100% green.

The app is really easy to use and the tariffs / charges you pay are really clear unlike other companies where you have to check really complicated bills.

They gave me a really long heads up when my tariff was ending and lots of advice about how to check if I am on the right tariff for me.

My in-laws are elderly and also with Octopus and they even sent them an electric blanket. And offered a visit to see how they could make small changes in their home to reduce their energy bills.

It’s good to be with a company that actually cares about its customers.

I joined octopus.energy because they advertise ad paying most for solar and I have a very big solar set up,
But in reality what my app says I'm uploading about 130kws the octopus.energy energy say I'm only uploading 35kws, iv tried and tried to sort this out but nothing, however that the least of my issues as for my February bill they made a mistake and charged me £1600 for a month energy I wasn't happy and eventually the bill was rectified and reduced to £60 and iv just received my bill for March £1200 clearly another mistake but I can't get through to anybody again so that will be another sleepless night worrying about where I'm gonna get this money from if they don't sort this out.
It's clear to me now that octopus.energy are ether incompetent or criminals and are completely untrustworthy.

Absolute wet wipe and joke of a service.

On my second complaint, and after several weeks, not addressed any salient points, or provided a complaint reference.

Refused to call me when asked.

Of course they won't correct errors in their favour. Have had to threaten to rip the meter off the wall to get them to respond.

Couldn't organise their way out of a paper bag.....

Oh am before you tell me to email you, I did that and you wet wipes ignored what I said and didn't log a COMPLAINT despite being asked too. Bet you will be in touch soon enough when I stop paying you thieves.

The worst energy company I have ever had, and they won't let me swap.

Their "emergency line" after 5pm consists of sending emails and getting ignored for a whole 24h, i have proof of all the aemails ive sent to them and is considering calling an ombudsman. They left me with no power with my child and I has no one to call, I had to wait to get I to work to charge my phone to contact them again. It would have taken them 5 minuets to fix via email.

Now I have a call help on my meter, been calling since 1pm, they said they are sending an emergency engineer, tried calling and their phone lines are off, been diverted to "emergency" again which is emailing them. Probably going to be left with no gas until they can pull their finger out and do something. Just feel so let down when I need them the most, it's even more insulting trying to leave but they won't let me. I was switched over from bulb In administration.
