Thoroughly delighted with our air source heat pump. Claire in the office has been invaluable in providing advice and information when we needed it. The installers were conscientious and tidy throughout and worked well alongside the plumbers we accidentally scheduled to do work in the house at the same time as the heat pump install. Would highly recommend them to anyone considering getting a heat pump or any other work done.

We had our ASHP installed a couple of weeks ago and really pleased with it so far. Plumbing & Renewables provided an excellent service from intial contact, quotations, site visit through to installation. The site visit set them apart from other companies, with a much more detailed property assessment and plenty of time for discussion on the options and siting for new radiators and other kit. Communication at all levels was excellent and the installation team were friendly and courteous. Highly recommended.

I appreciate this is a long review, so in summary this company delivers on their promises, has a personal touch with excellent communications. They provide a high quality of workmanship and follow up post installation to make sure you understand how it all works and ensure it’s all working efficiently and effectively. If you have the time please read on because the summary doesn’t do them justice!

After changing my original supplier of the renewable products due to consistently poor comms, I opted for a more local company, namely Plumbing and Renewables Ltd based in Alves, Moray. They were unknown to me and on my first enquiry with them, which happened at exactly the time they had booked the appointment (which was a refreshing change from my previous company) they openly admitted they were highly experienced with ASHP installs, but were less so with Solar and Battery, which they explained was a more recent expansion to their services offered. I felt this was very honest of them to make me aware so I could make an informed decision as to what services I would use them for. They even suggested an option where I could use a separate company for the Solar/battery work if it made me feel more comfortable. In the end I opted to use them for the whole range of products to install and I’m glad I did.
The process of planning the logistics and locations of each piece of kit was simple. One of the senior installers was able to come to my property within just a couple of days of my first enquiry, which was refreshing as the previous companies sent salesmen. We talked through everything at length and into quite some detail leaving me with a good understanding of the whole process and with very few unanswered questions.
The design and spec of the install was all done in collaboration to meet what I wanted, but they weren’t ‘yes men’ by any means, steering me toward better and more effective systems/setups explaining why each time. All the paperwork needed to satisfy the very pedantic Grant and Loan application process was provided promptly to allow a drawdown of funds well before the install date came around.
As the install date came round this is when Plumbing & Renewables Ltd demonstrated to my family why they deserve such high praise in this review. In the days prior to the job start date I suffered a severe trauma which hospitalised me throughout the duration of the install. The project leaders on site took time to FaceTime me so I could explain the big picture of how my house utilities were arranged. They also text me when unsure of key decisions, but we’re careful not to overload me whilst in such a poor health. They were pedantic to cover floors and minimise and damage or dirt in the house. On my return to the house it looked immaculate.
Prior to returning to my home we had to create a hospital room, which the install team assisted with without even a thought. We absolutely couldn’t have done on our own and are indebted to them, thank you.
We’ve just had a handover of the systems today and they were able to answer all our questions and demonstrate each of the components in laymen’s terms making it easy to understand.

I’ve lived in this area since 2009 and I have never had a tradesman come close to this level of service, let alone a whole company. Simply outstanding. I would have no hesitation in recommending Plumbing and Renewables Ltd, in fact anyone not using this company is missing out. I wish them well in the future and thank each and every member of the team for making it such a simple and enjoyable experience.

We have just had solar panels installed and we couldn’t be happier with the service received. From start to finish the process was made quick and easy by the team and we were always kept well informed. The team installing the panels were very efficient and professional and also super helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking into having solar panels installed!

I can not rate Plumbing and Renewables highly enough. Everyone we have dealt with has been so helpful and informative.
We had the installation of our new heating system done relatively quickly. This was due to the cost of our previous heating system and knowing this they were so helpful and considerate to our timings. No questions were too much trouble, always ensuring we were well informed and comfortable with each step of the process. They really know what they are talking about!
The guys who came out to do the install were very professional and worked quickly but thoroughly. Every day when they left it was tidy and they always checked I was happy. A couple of weeks after the install one of the lads happily popped back to program the system to our new energy tariff.
We are so happy with our new air source heat pump, it was installed early December and we are already seeing a massive reduction in our energy bills.
If you’re looking for a reliable, professional company who can’t do enough for you then these guys are your go to!

I just had an air-sourced heat pump system installed in my flat by Plumbing and Renewables. I’m really glad that I chose them for the work, every step of the way they have been friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, so much so that I am confident that I’ll be able to approach them with any questions or issues that might arise in the future. Of course, it is also reassuring that the team are so close at hand to where I live!

The quality of the workmanship was first class. I mostly followed the advice given after the initial survey regarding the equipment, size and placing of heaters, pipework with minimum intrusiveness, etc.

The work took just over three days, during which time I was able to stay at a friends’, which gave the guys time to do the job, without having to tidy away at the end of each day. When they had finished though, they left my place in great condition, and Josh was able to drop by the next morning and give me a run-through of the system.

So far though, it seems to be running itself absolutely fine with no need for any intervention on my part!

Again, I’m happy to recommend Plumbing and Renewables as a trustworthy, knowledgeable and efficient company, without any reservations at all!

Plumbing and renewables ltd have replaced our aging oil boiler with a 9Kw grant Air Source Heat Pump. Lifting a number of floors to upgrade all existing pipe work, up size most of our radiators and install hot water cylinder and ASHP was competently and effectively undertaken over a five day period. Whilst a lot of upheaval, detailed planning at the start and throughout left us in no doubt as what to expect. With great communication from both Claire in the office and Mattie at the work front, the disruption was made some much easier. Of the three quotes we obtained they were the most expensive, but their outstanding knowledge and attention to detail left us with the confidence of a job well done. Only time will tell whether the ASHP will keep us warm over the winter month in our 1850's Scottish granite walled house. But so far so good. I highly recommend Plumbing and Renewables Ltd.
