Course booked months in advance was cancelled 6 days before it was to start , due to low numbers attending the course , which is a sorry excuse . No regard for those taking the course and the need of certification t for employment .

I attended Clyde Training Solutions to carry out my HOIT & HERTM courses and I was very impressed! The instructors took the time to make sure everyone had a good understanding and were comfortable in their roles in the tasks given. Nothing was too much of a hassle for them and they went above and beyond to accommodate. I will be back in future for any more training I need and would highly recommend them.

Great facilities, great instructors who understand the nervousness that some of the attendees have during the pool exercises and help you get through the course will be using again for my next refresher

I did my STCW basic training (2nd till the 6th) out of my own pocket with the hope of a break into the industry.

The training facilities are fantastic, all the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable.

Hot drink machines and water in both buildings, then a 3 course meal for lunch.

The fire prevention and fire fighting was my highlight, brilliant. My instructor Davy kept the class well informed and safe at all times, even when he got a whistle in the ear.

Great job, thank you

Fantastic facility, super clean and organised. The instructors (particularly Archie, Sam, Stuart, Ashley and divers Colin and Luke) were very friendly, supportive, explained the BOSIET, MIST and all related tasks very well and were fully understanding and welcoming to queries everybody had and kept the whole experience very enjoyable. Would definitely recommend Clydeside Training Services. Thanks again!

It would be unfair to name any individual at Clyde training as they all work so well as a team. As a veteran of nine previous survivals the two refreshers I attended at Clyde were by far the best. The team really do go out of their way to reassure delegates who are nervous about certain parts of the training. My experience in the past at alternative training centres was to be sat on a bench poolside and only spoken to when being informed to enter the pool. Not the case at Clyde training, they do really seem to understand how nervous some people can be. I am all done now with refreshers but 'If I was returning' It would certainly be to Clyde training. One last thing. The Chorizo and Meatballs in the galley was excellent.

Having read the reviews for the Clyde Training Solutions I was looking forward to training at a facility in Central Scotland which saved me an over night stay in Aberdeen.

However, that changed when I got there. The signage is not very clear to find the actual building and then on arrival the instructor completely ignored me leaving it to the reception staff to direct me.

The morning class was in the pool, which for somebody who dreads this aspect, was quite daunting. To be clear, prior to attending I had taken steps to rectify this, hence my initial positivity. However, during the course of the exercise I found breathing underwater difficult and it was only when I got out the pool that I discovered my oxygen had run out. On informing the staff I was told 'yeah that sometimes happens'. That is totally unacceptable for a training day and the excuse of 'well it might happen in real life' is not good enough. I have paid for a training course, I did not pay for a reality helicopter ditch where I could possibly drown. The life jacket I was given was defective and failed to inflate, again completely unacceptable. On the plus side, the diver was far more empathic and was the only reason I went back into the pool as I put my trust and faith in him, to ensure I passed.

The fire fighting in the afternoon was little better, with fire extinguishers with barely any foam, resulting in water being poured on an oil fire causing it to further ignite. Whilst I understand that getting extinguishers filled is expensive, this is reflected in the cost of the course.

Finally the first aid. Thankfully I completed my first aid training with the British Red Cross six weeks ago, which was just as well as a 15 minute input is insufficient to teach someone even basic first aid.

The whole course was rushed, with defective equipment and insufficient inputs and rude training staff who showed little interest in what they were doing.

I will not be using them again and will be informing my company why.
