A tour was booked of this site by Margaret for our bakery enthusiast group. As it turned out there was less bread than we would normally like but we did observe the bread in the cafeteria seemed to be made of ancient grains, filled with ancient ham and ancient cheese.

Ultimately we were escorted off site when Margaret opened one of the turbines to put her marbled dark rye bread in to bake. Easy mistake to make but we did cause a blackout across half of Hertfordshire. Margaret kneads to get out of the police station after being charged for organising an uprising.

My friends took my to Rye House Power Station for my Birthday and it was GREAT⚑⚑⚑I've always wanted to go to Chernobyl so this is the next best thing... And only an hour from London! The sound of turbines humming and drowning out the birds, the big metal pylons towering menacingly over the trees, the fear of radiation poisoning all make for a thrilling day out. A hidden gem! We topped it off with a fab lunch at the Fish & Eels. Will return.
