Do not use gift cards at screwfx!!

Used a gift card (not a physical card but one loaded on my phone from a discount app through my work) at this store to buy some screws, card had £250 on it, (cashier took down the card number to make the payment). Went back a week later to make another purchase on the card to be Rd the balance was £0. I emailed screwfix to see what had happened and they confirmed the card balance was checked 3 times on the first day I brought something from this store and the remaining balance used later that day (over £240 stolen). Spoke to customer resolutions who were completely uninterested in even investigating what had happened. Reported to police who are also uninterested.

Use extreme caution when using gift cards especially at this store, all they need is the card number which you have to give to the cashier and they can take the whole balance off the card!

Working in the area for a few weeks and I'm using this Screwfix branch it can be really busy sometimes parking it's not very generous.
Customer service is spot on, those people know what they are doing.

Excellent service. Purchased an item using click and collect service. Item was ready for collection very quickly. Collection process was quick. This branch gets quite busy but it only has a very small car park approx 10 spaces. This is the main drawback as some drivers don't park properly or park on the main road outside affecting the flow of traffic. Staff in branch very Friendly and helpful

Properly helpful store. I needed a part urgently to fix a toilet and got there as they were closing but they opened for me and helped me find a compatible bit (a replacement of the faulty one was out of stock). Really nice people and really sympathetic. I was able to fix my toilet thanks to them.

Needed an order for when they opened at 7am. Ordered after midnight and received a notification that it was ready at 6:44. Was out of the door by 7:02 having been let in at 07:00. Excellent service all round.

Generally good and quick response worth about 10 spaces to park.. but there can sometimes be one person serving and if someone comes in who hasn't pre-ordered you can be worrying 10-15 mins for click and collect items

Handy location but check stock & order before you go if you can.
The store is well located (especially for those in the North or East of Bedford), close to main roads at the edge of town. It's easy enough to find as it's located on a corner.
There is a small car park of about 6 spaces. At busy times the spaces in the car park can be full but there's usually enough room to park safely in some of the unmarked areas, or on the road.
Stock levels for items can be a little hit & miss, so it's highly recommended that you check stock online. Even better, if you make the order online & use the 'Click & Collect' service then the order will be picked ready for you to collect, so you can be in & out in just a minute.
