Was in the Dumfries store today with my mum and was served by christine( assistant manager which is a bit of a joke considering her customer service) my mum had previously been in and was helped by the same person but upon return I found her very abrupt,rude and dismissive. She had told my mum on the previous visit she could order the item for next day collection but upon return she said she didn't say that and she couldn't order it after all. Her customer service was not professional. I hope this is handed down to store level because as an assistant manager in a customer facing role she needs training

As someone who isn't exactly sure on DIY and was sent on a pick up errand, it seemed really daunting popping in here. But the guy I saw was really helpful. I picked up my order and asked him a few questions about another item I needed and he talked me through exactly what was best, which was a real help.

Went to pick up my order only yesterday, only to be told that it was out of stock. Received the text message saying that it was ready for collection. However after traveling 7 miles to get there was out of stock. Therefore had a wasted journey. The chap said that they were getting a delivery in the following day. Therefore, went back today to pick up my box of screws. Only to be told that they're still out of stock. 24 hours waiting for them, what ever that means......
Fuel costs me money people.
Three visits will be 21 miles there and 21 miles back.
Until then no screws no work......

I ordered something online to be collected and I am nearly 60 yrs old with health conditions, so I asked my daughter who is over 18 to carry the items for me but because she did not have ID with her the member of staff refused to allow her to lift them off the table and carry them to the car even though I had my ID with me. So I was forced to lift the heavy items and because they were heavy I ended up dropping them on the floor so my daughter carried them anyway because she thought it was ridiculous for me to be lifting them.
Overall I think this member of staff was over the top and with two other members of staff watching on and I felt completely stressed with the whole experience. I probably will not shop there again.

Local, fast friendly service with stock available in store 9 out of 10 visits ( my personal experience). That one time there was no stock of what I wanted I was advised where I could get it within 150 metre of the Screwfix store. Now that's what I call customer service.
I wont list everything I bought but it included footwear (great price), saw blades and joiners folding ruler.
