On 15 Dec 2024 our bathroom light stopped working. A friend got the lamp/bulb down for me as neither I nor my husband could do that. My friend's online search indicated that Screwfix Parc Tawe might have something suitable in stock. The lady assistants there were very helpful and called the Manager who explained to me that the old lamp/bulb I had taken in to them was no longer made and had been replaced with a LED lamp. I was concerned that the LED lamp might not match the existing fitting. The Manager thought that it would but told me to bring it back if it did not which reassured me. In the event, the lamp did fit and I very much appreciated the Parc Tawe staff's patience, helpfulness & advice.

As an American, it's a little odd to go to a hardware store and not be able to walk up and down the aisles looking for what you want. Here there is a row of catalogs and a counter. Skip the catalogs add go right to the counter because the people working behind it know their stuff. Tell them what you want to do and they'll point you not only to the things you thought you wanted, but maybe a more efficient / safer / cheaper way to do it! It's rather nice, actually.

Very unhelpful. enquired via help line about mini cement mixer. yep no problems 1 in stock fits in back of estate car. Paid for it and only then do they say can't help me load a 54kg 26inch square box into my car. No choice but to get refund and go somewhere else. Poor communication and service. Worse bit was it was all done very politely with a smile. I suppose they are ok if you only want a packet of screws. Beware!

Wasn't exactly sure about the item that i needed, but the assistant who served me (duty manager/jason) was extremely helpful in explaining what i needed to purchase. Very professional, thankyou
