Siobhan assessed my 17 year old daughter for dyslexia. I spoke to a couple of assessors on the phone when deciding who to use and I knew straight away that Siobhan was the right person. She took the time to discuss my daughter and how the assessment would work. My daughter is very bright and did well at school, and her difficulties with reading only came to light in Y11. She was diagnosed with Irlen Syndrome, and after her college did some basic tests of her reading efficiency, we decided to pursue a dyslexia assessment so that she can access support at university via DSA. Siobhan described her experience in assessing teenagers and adults who have developed their own strategies to succeed, not knowing that they are dyslexic, so while we went into the assessment not knowing if she would meet the criteria, I was confident that we would have a clearer picture of exactly what she struggles with and the strategies she uses to compensate.

The assessment was in depth and tailored to my daughter, taking into account previous tests she had experienced at college, and the results leave no doubt about the issues she has and how they demonstrate a clear dyslexic profile. Siobhan went over everything straight afterwards, then the report arrived a few days later. The report is very detailed with a very comprehensive range of suggestions of ways to help her now and in the future.

Siobhan made my daughter feel very comfortable during the assessment and she appreciated the break and refreshments. It was also great that she included a positive emphasis, detailing how dyslexic thinking can be a strength and that this is something that employers are starting to look for.
