I didn’t get my Ticket quick enough when I drove into the car park as I had to get my three children out and then found out I needed to download an app where I had no signal to download an app which took ( 12 minutes ) from entering the car park to getting three kids out one being baby and downloading an app managing to pay and then found out when I got back home. I had parking fine. I Appealed and got nowhere just haven’t got the time or effort for a company like this. Total scammers hope their company goes bust 🙏

My daughter received a parking notice 11 days after the date of issue, leaving 3 days to pay the reduced charge. The option to pay by post as stated in the letter is therefore not an option at all. At the end of the day, she was in the wrong and the charge was valid but seriously, anyone not able to pay online or by phone is penalised. Unfair practice.

I recently received a debt collection letter for a parking charge allegedly issued by Smart Parking back in June 2021—nearly four years ago. This was the first time I was ever made aware of the charge. I did not receive any parking notice, reminder, or correspondence from Smart Parking prior to this, despite the fact that I have not changed address, and my vehicle registration details were fully up to date with the DVLA during that time.

I’ve since contacted Smart Parking and the debt agency, but have not received a clear explanation for the delay or why proper notice was never issued. This has caused unnecessary stress, and I believe it is deeply unfair and unacceptable to pursue someone for a charge years later without giving them the chance to respond or appeal at the appropriate time.

I would urge others to be extremely cautious with this company. I expected more accountability and transparency from a company managing public car parks.

Recently visited Llanberis and paid £14 for a day pass at the royal Victoria car park. Had a great day finally climbed up Snowden at last. 2 weeks later I received a fine telling me I hadn’t paid enough funds for the car park when it clearly stated £14 for the day. Which I paid and can prove it So I was ordered to pay £60 parking fine. They had actually got the days mixed up because they said I was there on the 16/07/25 when in fact I was no where near on that day. I contested it because I knew it was wrong but I haven’t heard anything so it’s their word against mine and I think we all know where that is going. Just want to warn people to be careful where you park because something isn’t right here. Had such a great experience but this has totally ruined it for me and I’ll probably never go back even though I really wanted to.

Inflexible robbing people. Went to my local and wasn’t aware the car park was under their control and didnt see any signage hence got a £100/£60 fine. I sent them a copy of my bank statement proving I had purchased something at the pub on that particular night. . Plus the under manager of the pub emailed them confirming my purchase. As a result they decided to reduce my fine to £20. Why not quashing the whole fine completely as they obviously knew it wasn’t a blatant ignoring of the parking details. These people are hell bent on squeezing as much money out of you as possible. I was told I could appeal via IAS but if the appeal failed I was liable to pay the whole amount. As a pensioner money is at a premium and I couldn’t afford to pay the £100 if my claim wasn’t successful

What happened to common sense and understanding

Received a letter from Debt Recovery Plus (DRP) saying it was the 4th letter issue. Spoke to DRO who said to ignore the 4th letter aspect. They’d sent 1 letter only 6 to 7 weeks after the parking offense (which I don’t deny). They said Smartparking had sent a letter saying monies owed - not received any letters from Smartparking.
No contact info to speak to Smartparking and no incentive for them to confirm letters issued to me. Conflict of interest to hide behind contact info, confirmation of letters issued / received, letters not sent recorded / signed for etc.
Dodgy dealings doesn’t describe it!

Having gone into the car park to pick up my wife, not parked in any bays, waited for ten minutes to collect my wife and leaving. I have been charged an unspecified amount, after I appealed, I have to pay however much they want to charge me, or face an ever increasing fine.. it's despicable, but there's nothing I can do about it except pay.. oh if I do that over the phone they charge an extra 7p per minute..

I forgot to purchase a ticket as I had my young son with me and he distracted me, I returned and purchased a ticket as soon as I realised I had forgotten. I received a PCN and appealed sending an image showing I had actually paid for the remainder of my stay and they rejected the appeal and enforced the PCN despite me having paid for parking (albeit late)
