I first ordered Solar Buddies when my oldest entered kindergarten three years ago and I was told no one ensures the kids apply sunscreen at school :o. I have since ordered two more units and six replacement heads because I have zero intention of using sunscreen in the traditional way ever again.
Function: they are super easy to fill and use! Each of my kids carry one in their backpack and apply sunscreen at each recess because it is easy and they can! the Solar Buddies enable them and puts my mind at ease. I keep one in my car and can apply while at a red light when I am reminded that I need to apply because my arm is baking in the sun. I also love that they don't over-apply, instead a nice thin (but protective) layer is applied to the skin. As for types of sunscreen, many users have had no issue with zinc-based sunscreens, I haven't tried it yet. So far it has worked really well with Coppertone (without the super nasty chemicals), and I just tried Blue Lizard.
Durability: well, we are approaching our third summer season with the same units and have had no issues at all with filling, leaking, or the heads getting gummed up and dirty. We have traveled with them, thrown them in various bags to go to various places, and they still work perfectly.
Replacement heads: I know the heads (roller ball and foam) will wear out one day, and I will be prepared. I ordered online and they were delivered to Canada from Europe in a matter of 10 days. They are suprisingly affordable too!

All in all, Solar Buddies changed my life! My entire family loves them, and people in my community are always in awe when they see us using them. Of course I tell them where they can buy their own 🙂 Just brilliant!

Love these!
I don't like applying creams, stays on my hands, not always able to wash them, so these mean we can all stay protected and I don't have to get icky!!!
My 3 year old is able to apply her own cream, repeatedly if needed😂 as the coating is perfectly light!

Absolutely love these sunscreen applicators. I have been purchasing for last three years. Not that I needed to replace them as they continue to hold up. Makes putting and reapplying sunscreen so much easier and your hands don’t get sticky. I also have the sand remover kit which is a perfect addition to any beach trip. My last purchase I shared with friends and coworkers and they can’t believe they haven’t used them sooner.

The idea of this product is great and my child loves using it, however both of the units we bought leak and make a mess of your bag or car. I’ve tried storing it both up and down but it doesn’t help.

Such a good product. Makes applying suncream easy. Love the accessories which means you can clip the applicator to your bag. The bundles are brilliant and I now have the piece of mind that I have a first aid kit to hand whenever I need it.

I rarely say that, but this idea is genius! I was able to delegate the task completely to my children, starting from age 3. It is so important to teach the kids how to care for their bodies and protect themselves from the sun. Solar Buddies makes it easy and fun. I use it as a grown up as well, because the sunscreen layer is just so even and the whole body application takes like 30 seconds. Thank you, dear ladies, for making this mom's life a lot easier on the daily!

I can not recommend this product enough! Every parent should have one for their little ones. It makes applying sunscreen a breeze and helps protect the whole family. Older children can apply it independently. I have bought one for every family I know. It is a great practical gift to give to a first-time parent!

I bought these not really expecting much, but on my goodness they are brilliant!!!
Gives you a really even coating of sunscreen, and actually lasts for ages!
Thoroughly recommend buying these for adults as well as kids...
