We recently had Andrew out to talk us through having solar panels installed at our house and within weeks had a fully installed system. From initial interaction, through installation and beyond I can only commend Start Solar for their professionalism, efficiency and transparency. I had done some research prior to meeting Andrew and he was very tuned in to my requirements and expectations and determined a setup best suiting my needs. We have an all electric house so solar generation will assist us massively in reducing bills and that was considered throughout. The installers and electrician where out within weeks and had panels and battery installed within a few hours. They were very clean, tidy and efficient and took time throughout to check I was happy with positioning and to give an overview of what they were doing, how it worked and things I needed to be aware of. Start Solar also have a very open door approach to after sales and whilst I have had no issues and thus need to contact them, I have decided I want an additional battery (something we did discuss at inception as a potential add on) and was able to arrange this with minimal effort.

We had a great experience with Start Solar.

We got a survey done, with suggestions as to the layout of the panels and position of inverter, battery and car-charger. Everything was clear and well presented. The prices were very competitive. I went for 5kW of panels and a 5kWh battery. The installation was fast, efficient and neat. They sent a team of two men - one is a roofer who fits the panels, and the other is an electrician. I had recently had our house re-slated, so I am a bit precious about my roof, but I needn't have worried - the guys clearly know what they are doing. Minor snags were rectified quickly and the response to any emails or phone calls was quick and useful. As for the system itself, the performance appears to the spot on. I was particularly attracted to the fact that the inverter, battery and car-charger are all the same brand (Givenergy) - so they work well together and are all in the one app. There is also a very good web app. The car charger seems good too - once set up correctly, you can plug-in for excess solar power to top up your car, leave it plugged in to charge overnight on off-peak rates, or tap the key-fob to charge immediately at max power.

Overall, I am very pleased with our installation and would not hesitate to recommend Start Solar.

Recently installed 22 panels with Start Solar on a ground mount with an 8kw battery and a zappi car charger. Although we got of to a bad start, some delays initially, due to storms, materials, poor communication back and forth I eventually got through to Ben who quickly sorted the issues and I couldn't be happier with the system. Deposit paid in December and system installed in March. Because off all the issues I had with the company I got a very healthy discount and a 200 euro donation to a charity of my choosing in Mayo. Guys came and done the work all in one day. All the lads on the ground were sound to deal with, very helpful and I would recommend them to anyone. Decided to investigate solar power . Looked at a few providers but settled on Start Solar. They set very clear expectations on what to expect from solar energy and were very competitive if not the best quote. Great communication throughout the process and installation was within 2 weeks of order. I'm not underestimating the work involved on the installation day but it felt simple and hassle free. No mess no upheaval no fuss. The installation team were friendly and knowledgeable and took the time to explain how it would work they also set up the app for both the main system and EV charger and explained how to use it. I'm a few days in to the system and I have no doubt that Solar is the way to go.
