Very pleased with the inverter and batteries. The manufacturer is partly UK based and has an inspiring MD. The uk support provided excellent help in configuring, software updating and checking the system. They really do stand by their product when the installer has moved on. Highly recommend the products and company.

After the company we used for the installation had stopped using Givenergy products, which we initially wanted, we reluctantly had our Sunsynk system, 5kw inverter, and 2 x 5.32kwh batteries, installed in January 2024.

I say since the installation, and the system set up to how we wanted it to run, we haven't had a single issue with the system. It has been rock solid!

To be honest, I can't fault it. It just works.

Now, the app I personally think is great, 99% of the time. It's Web based, so your system uploads data every 5 minutes so you can see your data in every way possible over time you had your system.

The problem with it being Web based is that if the server is down or being updated, you can't see your data for a few hours on the app. But you can always go to your inverter and see the live data on the LCD display at any time. To be honest, I thought this would bother me, but overall, it really hasn't.

Sunsynk, over the past year or so, if you look at the media and reviews coming out, has really shown their passion for the industry. Pushing the technology forwards and producing a large range of, so far, reliable products for domestic and commercial use.

I haven't had to use their customer service as of yet. Hopefully, I won't need to, so I can't comment on this.

Sunsynk has a massive well done from me, and I would recommend their products.

It would be nice to see Sunsynk offer a 10-year warranty as standard to show the industry and future customers that they really have the belief in the reliability of their own products.

3.8kw inverter with 8 panels linked to a 5kw battery, recommended & installed by Harvest Renewables Cornwall. Staff very knowledgeable, trades all carried out a professional install. During the recent good weather in June, we were able to run our high energy white goods during the day on self generated power, if the battery is charged to 80% late afternoon this has been running the house overnight. Excess energy has been directed to the immersion tank for hot water when available. Overcast days are still generating enough power to reduce energy from the grid when using the dishwasher & washing machine. Bills have certainly reduced so far from monitoring our smart meter & sure this will make a difference during the winter months as well. Its all about managing the times of your usage, working from home helps. To date I'm very pleased with the investment.

Equipment is great, can't fault it - rock solid. But the app and supporting infrastructure is all over the place recently. Loads of downtime, which means if the invertor isn't accessible, it's very hard to control things.

Communication during downtime is very poor for a large company. Recently the systems were down most of the day with only 1 update.

While the hardware is well made, their software and customer support, particularly communication, is utterly hopeless. Be prepared for regular, unannounced outages without any communication or explanation, and delightful ‘features’ like internal clocks which can’t keep time (even with an internet connection) and start programmed functions at the wrong time.

Given the number of disgruntled users on the Sunsynk Owners Facebook group, which even has some Sunsynk staff as member, you might expect better, but unfortunately not.

The company seems far more interested in posting YouTube videos about their latest product, than fixing the gaping holes in their software.

Smart tariff integration is at best, unstable and not to be trusted (see previous comment about the internal clock), and even basic functionality like forcing export to the grid, requires manual intervention.

Ultimately, you only option to get the functionality and reliability you would expect, is to use add on devices and software like Solar Assistant and Home Assistant.

If I had my time over, I would absolutely choose GivEnergy products over Sunsynk.

I live in hope of them sorting things out, but there seems little sign of that, or even that they are particularly concerned about doing so.

In short, absolutely not recommended, especially if you are not prepared to go down technical rabbit holes to find you own work-arounds to the various limitations.

The equipment is excellent, however the app needs a lot of work, it gives false readings of energy exported as it carries export figures over to the new day and records the false figure if no energy is generated. Also the time does not automatically update with BST/GMT this needs to be manually updated with a loss of data but then it resets itself after time so any timers set are then out of sync. Customers services are not interested in end users and fob you off telling you to speak to fitters who have no control over the app. Happy for consumers to buy the product but refuse to talk to us. Come on Keith PULL YOUR FINGER OUT and sort the app

The products look and perform great. I have a hybrid inverter and battery installed in Jan '23. Sunsynk seem to be quite responsive to customers wants and needs by providing new features but they really need to work on the way they rollout and inform users of what has changed in their firmware. (currently it's non existent) They seem to prefer to deal with installers only which I can understand but they will help you as an end user if you get through to the right person.
