Cold calling - very rude on the phone. Called today at 2.15pm. Then started to laugh down the phone

Cold called by someone who didn't introduce himself or the company, didn't tell me what he was after but just started off asking me questions on our energy supply without explaining why. When I pointed out he he didn't have the basic manners to introduce himself or the company he was representing he decided I was being rude, but did state his name and that of the company. Some basic training needed for poor 'Tommy' from Newcastle. Apparently his calls are recorded so I'm sure his training needs will be identified by his professional employers.

UPDATE: I have received a call from Paul, one of the directors of Energy Supermarket. He provided a full and frank apology and explained that the company had reviewed the call. It doesn't completely excuse the initial behaviour but shows that the company takes feedback seriously. I have amended my rating from a 1 Star to a 3 accordingly.

Sharp practices, which we did not notice. Our company has been on an "all in energy rate" for years, we don't split out or pay for "pass through" costs from the DNO.

We got our quotes from TES and they produced a nice spreadsheet with all different price options with total day/night costs, but then gave an additional total down the bottom, off the main pricing sheet with TCR costs.

As we had never been on this type of contract we just looked at day/night, daily charge and maximum demand, the other £2,700 p.a we are now paying was not accurately identified. This has cost us 10% more than predicted.

I'll not work with these people again

Dont ever sign any contract or use their service as they are a fraud company. The tell you 12 months contract and then send you contract for 48 months. They hide rental fees and only tell you the transaction fees. Contracts are changed upon signing. All 5 star reviews are faked.

Having a good knowledge of the energy sector, along with the companies that operate within it, I'm confident in saying the way TES operate and conduct themselves is second to none.
At a time when business consumers need guidance the most, TES would be an excellent company to place your trust.

I was previously with awful card merchant service until a nice young man walked into my shop and showed me how much I was being robbed. Now I get my money within 24 hours which has made running my business so much easier. Would highly recommend
