Our Walking Group visits the Greenhouse most Tuesdays for our social get-together after our walk. We are made most welcome by all staff, from the friendly greeting at reception through to the cafe counter, the staff strike the perfect balance between professional and personable.

We always sample the treats on offer. The menu feels home-made and thoughtfully prepared. The freshly baked scones arrive warm, the barista knows her craft their latte boasts velvety micro foam. Orders arrive promptly. It’s clear they take pride in both the venue and the food they serve.

The building’s green credentials are more than just a name. A small wind turbine powers part of the building, and most packaging is compostable. There are dedicated rooms throughout for meetings or workshops, making it a popular choice for local clubs and small events.

The Greenhouse isn’t just another coffee stop—it’s a destination. Every detail, from the friendly smiles to the home-baked treats and eco-friendly ethos, adds up to an experience you’ll want to repeat. Whether you’re chasing a quiet workspace, a leisurely lunch, or simply a perfect cup of coffee and a talk with the ducks beside the pond, this venue delivers on all fronts.

Attending training at The Greenhouse. Its in the middle of an industrial estate near Stanley, Around 15 minute walk to the bus stop on the main road. It has a large car park which is free. It houses various units and office space and I attended training in one of the rooms. The ladies who look after reception and friendly and helpful. There’s a cafe with plenty of seating. Shoutout to In particular to the lady who works on the cafe and replenishes the teas etc for meeting rooms as she is amazing. Nothing is too much trouble for her. The room I trained in was either way too hot or freezing cold…I literally got a creak in my neck from the cold air con. Cafe prices are slightly high…over £3 for hot chocolate. Smoking shelter at the back.
Drawback - some of the meeting rooms are divided by a wooden partition and it makes the noise from the adjacent room very loud. On my last day I could barely hear my instructor from raucous laughter coming from the next room! Great for them but not so great for us. There’s a nice little pond out front to enjoy during a break. Overall nice place.

The Greenhouse Business Centre, Annfield Plain, Stanley, provides a unique, eco-friendly, professional environment with Conferencing facilities, modern Office spaces, a new Business Lounge and onsite catering through Café Verte.

There is also a friendly, helpful, full time Reception team on hand to assist.

The surrounding natural grounds and pond are perfect for a break out space or a bit of wildlife watching.

Been here for the week training with work, with a large group of people.

Other than the building been beautiful. And everything looks well kept. Emma the lady behind the counter has been absolutely amazing! 5/5 stars! She's been polite, served well, handled everyone's orders to perfection. And cooked everyone's meals also.

And a big shout out to the staff at front desk. Been very welcoming and polite. Could not of asked for better service all week.

Have run several First Aid at Work courses here and found the centre an ideal location. Staff are friendly and efficient, always willing to help. Rooms are large, well lit and furnished. Buffet lunches are spot on.Presentation equipment and flipcharts provided.

Only ever been to the small cafe in there. Foods nice, variety of cold food, seems like its all prepared there, freshly made scones and cakes. Full breakfast and buns available too along with tea coffee and a selection of cans.

Did my training here, nice set up and very warm so the name suit's the venue 😀..got very busy on some days and struggled to get a parking space..always plenty of free tea-coffee & bottled water so that was nice..
