recently had my car serviced and a few faults sorted on my BMW 320d by Zed shed , and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. I had a few problems with my roof on my E89 not functioning correctly, as I live over in Jersey in the Channel Islands and have had the roof previously repaired by our local BMW rip off specialist charging me close to £1000 to replace one micro switch I was recommended THE ZED SHED on the a E89 Facebook page, one telephone call later I was booked in, obviously I had to arrange travel over but with my brother living nearby accommodation wasn’t a problem, on arrival at THE ZED SHED Mike quickly set to work firstly reading codes and then advising me of the problem, I think two of the four switches (sensors) were bad but decided to replace all four for future proofing, Mike set about replacing the faulty switches sensors while I discovered a nearby cafe returning about an hour later to find my car ready and with the roof down, having work like this carried out by an expert like Mike is PEACE OF MIND, we all hate whilst opening the roof waiting for the bong of death and red flashing light, in my case now I can open the roof without even thinking about it, I just had a three week holiday down the south of France the roof must have been up and down over a 100 times without fault.

Mike, thank you so much for providing me with a roof that no longer causes anxiety attacks every time I use it, and thank you for your professionalism honesty and very smart high tech garage, believe me it’s calming just knowing you are there not just for roof faults but all faults on various models of BMW.

The price for fixing all four sensors and labor was still cheaper than having one switch replaced at my local BMW STEALERSHIP here in Jersey.

I HONESTLY can’t thank and praise you enough

Mike runs a great business - based on the volume of cars arriving, I’m not the only one that thinks this way.

Took my E89 for a timing chain replacement, major service, auto transmission oil change and sump replacement, and new battery and re-programming.

I also asked for advice if other jobs were needed. Mike is a honest guy and advised it wasn’t - much respected.

To speak with Mike you can tell how enthusiastic he is in what he does. He knows his subject inside out and I would not hesitate to return or to recommend.

He showed me the old timing chain tensioner, and where it had actually broken - it was just a matter of time before it busted the engine….lucky timing!

Thanks Mike, really appreciate your efforts.
I’ve only driven the car once since collecting it, but I am reassured that it is future proofed for many more years

We always trust Zedshed to look after our Z4’s and also recently booked a Mini in with them which had already been looked at by various other garages without any success . With Mike’s knowledge and dealer level diagnostics the fault was soon found and fixed which kept costs to a minimum and had the car back on the road in no time. I would highly recommend Zedshed for anything BMW & Mini related, whether it be routine servicing & maintenance, roof repairs or advanced fault finding.

I contacted the zed shed as my Z4 had the dreaded "sticky steering syndrome".
So I drove the 270 miles from Essex to them. When I got there I asked Mike if he could also do an smg gearbox service, sort out a sensor warning light and align the wheels. After sorting all of those faults and spending nearly two hours adjusting and readjusting the steering column to no avail, Mike said he believed the problem to be the rack. He then called 5 of his contacts to try to find a reconditioned rack but unfortunately they are like the proverbial hens teeth. He then sorted a good used one from his yard and after rearranging the next days work he fitted it (the old one was completely knackered when he showed me it, still attached to my car) all in all, steering rack and new attachments, smg gearbox service, ABS sensor replacement, wheel alignment (twice) and diagnosis of the real problem came to less than a service at a BMW dealership! I drove the car the 270 miles back home and it was like a new car! Mike is definitely the guru of Z cars! I can only thank Mike and his associate Luke for the expertise, knowledge and hospitality they showed. I shall from now on only use The Zed shed for servicing and repairs and I recommend you to as well. Thanks for reading this saga!

Travelled from Leamington to get the roof on my e89 fixed. Fantastic job and price. Wish I found Mike ages ago! This will be my go to place from now on.

Mike fixed my roof on my E89 as it was intermittently working (hall sensors)
Fixed my broken soft close boot.
Had my old E85 roof fixed with him too, he’s the best in the business. Honest, genuine guy and knows his stuff.

Another great repair at a good price, this time on a BMW X1 rather than Z4. Had an issue caused by a broken spring on the gear lever, giving a warning message to “secure the vehicle against rolling”. By all accounts a common issue on the automatic X1 and certain Minis.
According to forums, main dealers charge over a thousand pound replace the unit.
I have used Zedshed a couple of times for repairs to a Z4 and always been happy, so decided to take the X1. All sorted at a very fair price.
I live in about 70 miles from Zedshed, but well worth the trip for specialised repairs. Left car overnight and had a night in Liverpool. All round a good trip and a sorted car.
