Brilliant hardware shop. Loved the range of cleaning products. Great and friendly service from a gent who had been in the business for a long time, and really knew his stuff. A real rarity these days!

Awesome place. Often surprised by that extra thing they have that I didn't think they'd have. Often cheapest. Can usually buy single items of the little things which is better than the big stores packs of 10 etc. Very helpful staff. They once held a pair of gloves I'd lost for ages until I figured out that's where I'd left them.

If you've never been to an old school hardware store, visit as a tourist! Challenge: find the location of sellotape, an oven glove, a shower head, and garden trellis by exploration alone (no asking!)

Visited Thornes today and had the usual amazing experience. I got a USB-C to USB-A cable for linking new tech with old tech for only £3,fabulous. I also got re-usable cable ties, eco firelighters, a couple of stick on hooks, two small torches and moth killing stuff. The only thing that was not available was Vanish in bar form ( in later this week.) The prices were excellent and I noticed travel adaptor plug at the same price as Dunelm. And I got a discount with my loyalty card. All the staff were very helpful and knew what was in the different department. Much better than shopping on line

The guy at the till who was selling tools was not really polite. Although he greeted me after I did it which is good. But after finishing the purchase I said him "have a good weekend" and got only a snooty glance as a response. Not really friendly I suppose.

Came past Thorns pushing a wheelchaired lady...Ashleigh (hope I have his name correct) was outside sorting some boxes. I showed him a pic of what I wanted on my phone and off he went to find it. It was out of stock but gave me the nane of the supplier etc. This is what I call outstanding service!

I went into Thorns DIY today to get some new parts for a Scooter. Thorns has a traditional old school feel about it and all the staff were friendly and directed me to the right area for the parts I needed. I would like to say a particular thanks to Paul, who’s customer service was exceptional and helped me with the Scooter parts, making sure they fitted. Thank you Thorns and Paul, it’s great to see good value and great customer service still exists.

This company should been shame of them selfs. Treated Disablity customers no care in world it state on there receipt 16 days refund policy brought electric cable wasn’t done it couldn’t been refunded. A Disablity customers couldn’t see sigh in store as bad eyes if there was any now contact trading standard and asa edp shame on this company
