A nice independent cafe in Brighton away from the High St. My friend found us this place after a day of visiting the Pavilion and walking on the promenade.

Just as well as it started to rain so this was a nice end to our day to have a hot drink and cake.

I ordered hot chocolate with cream, but you can have marshmallows if you wish.

I managed to nab the last slice of Vegan Mocha cake which was absolutely divine.

Soft, moist, nice buttercream, not overly sweet. Tasted delicious. You wouldn't know this was Vegan if someone didn't tell you. Very well made.

My Hot Chocolate wasn't hot which in hindsight I could have said something but we were cold and I just wanted something to drink/eat so I didn't make a fuss.

When you order your hot drink, you can opt for a different choice than cows milk as my friend had oat milk instead.

We were lucky to find a seat downstairs as the cafe was busy but it does say they have additional seating upstairs.

Prices are not cheap but nice to sit down and have a treat and indulge once in a while. That is what life is about. Not always watching the pennies.

Stopped off for a refuel and to escape a street parade.
Plenty of seating both up and downstairs. Shop was busy and there was a steady queue of customers.
Bought a pastry and a coffee. Was given a numbered cup and told the server where I would be seated.
There was a lot food choices but was only on a brief visit so did not try any.
Didn't think the pricing for two items was extortionate, unlike another well known coffee shop.
Pastry was a bit stale which was a shame. Coffee was good though and liked how it was served in a glass, not a coffee cup. Cute! ☺️

Ever stumbled upon a hidden breakfast spot that turns your morning around? That’s exactly what happened to us at The Trading Post! Tucked away from the main street hustle, this quaint little place was a delightful discovery. 🌟

I dived into a plate of pancakes that were nothing short of spectacular. Drizzled with syrup, topped with crispy bacon, crunchy walnuts, and fresh blueberries—every bite was a dream! 🥞🥓🍯🫐

My partner kept it classic with a tasty sausage and egg combo, hitting all the right notes of a hearty breakfast. 🍳🍴

And the coffee? Simply perfect! It was the rich, wake-me-up brew we needed. ☕️❤️

Just a heads-up, the space is cosy, so it might feel a bit tight when it's busy. But that just adds to the charm! 🤗

If you’re in the mood for a breakfast that feels like a treat, check out The Trading Post. It’s a small spot with big flavours and totally worth the visit! 🌈✨

Clearly a very popular coffee shop, little bit of a queue to wait but got through quickly. Everyone was super nice and took the time to explain the coffee and its origins.

Double espresso from Costa Rica: a very well-made coffee, with strong chocolate flavours. Think a medium dark roast, lovely espresso!

Stopped here for a coffee with good friends and was not disappointed in the coffee or food! Had heard good things about this place, and they were correct! The spicy tuna sandwich was a winner and the coffee- impeccable.

Service was speedy and staff were friendly and nice.

Have removed one star, though, as the toilet was pretty gross today.

Has outside tables, a terrace, and tables on the ground floor so you can take your pic. Toilets are not accessible so this is worth considering if you have disabilities. Entrance ground floor.

First time visiting this coffee shop in Brighton. The coffee was nice and the food was even better. I enjoyed halloumi with poached eggs. Staff was friendly though it takes a bit of time to wait for the order

The fry up was nice, but it is expensive for how much you get, the wait, and only arrived lukewarm. This is a very busy cafe in the heart of the vibrant North Laine in Brighton. This meant that most things felt a bit off for our visit because of how busy it was. It fell below the standard we have seen at other Trading Post Coffee Roaster sites. If you like the company, perhaps check how busy it is before going here or check other venues. On a sunny day it was mobbed and staff looked overwhelmed. There were wrong orders and staff generally didn't know where they were taking food and coffee to. There is a sun terrace here, but service for brunch was slow and the food arrived lukewarm. The terrace is overlooked by hungry seagulls and was a paradise for wasps. Tables were not cleared and dishes and mugs were stacked up. Realistically, I don't think they should open the terrace if it has such an impact on the quality of service provided.
I will probably avoid this cafe for brunch, and only do a takeaway coffee or cake. I will stick with Trading Post's other sites in future.

I came here for lunch while in Brighton for the day. I found the staff to be really friendly and helpful, and the food l ordered was a generous sized portion and delicious. The
staff member serving me kindly altered my order slightly to suit my dietary requirements, which I was very grateful for. I was really impressed and will return when I'm next in Brighton.
