Would definitely recommend, the owner knew his stuff and was very pleasant to deal with.

Took My Graphics card in for a service as it was overheating and throttling, he replaced the thermal components and ran tests before and after. I am very pleased with the results, and have seen my temperature lower over 25° after the service. Very pleased, would go again with any computer or electronic issues.

Good Points:

Bad Points:
Doubt over the explanation of a "damaged screw"

I took my 2019 Acer Predator Helios 300 in for a service, which included cleaning the fans, heat sink, and keyboard, as well as replacing the thermal paste for the GPU and CPU—according to the technician.

However, I was given a major red flag when the technician claimed that a "damaged screw" inside the laptop indicated someone had previously opened it. This was simply not possible, as I bought the laptop brand new in 2019 and it has never left desk, let alone been dismantled before. This leads me to believe that the damage was caused by them.

Had the technician admitted to causing the damage, I would have appreciated the honesty. Instead, the attempt to shift blame left a bad impression.

Either he or his colleague caused the damage or the laptop manufacturer are not up to standard. Never the less I got what I came for and my laptop performs how it is supposed to.

Lesson Learned:
Always request before and after pictures when handing in a device for repair, and if possible, take your own photos beforehand.

Picture this. You’re studying engineering and it’s exam season. You have one last deadline before revising for some gruesome exams, just after you hand in your last assignment and start revising, your laptop switches off to never turn on again. That’s what happened to me. Now I only had just over a week before the damage of the inactive laptop can fully affect my revision. After consulting some friends Tricorn came highly recommended so I went and told them of the situation and they kindly explained to me the process of the repair. Nervously I wait to hear some news and in under 1 week I get the good news. “Your laptop has been repaired, and is ready for collection”. I almost couldn’t believe it. They communicated amazingly, were very kind, and got everything working as if my laptop were brand new. Honestly I’m amazed and thank you to the staff at Tricorn. That’s it for me and now it’s revision time for my insane exams.
