100% acts illegally, so I constantly let my electric (PAYG) run out then top it up and in the past 3 weeks I’ve randomly had between £6.20-£6.80 3x charged to me after my electric runs out to find out today that this ratty company has been illegally adding a charge from nowhere. The worst bit is I’ve been with this company for years now and hadn’t payed attention to how many times this has happened. Have contacted citizens advice to take further legal action, even contacted utilita via live chat and as soon as my ‘query’ was read was immediately disconnected from 3 separate live chat admins. So they clearly know they do it. Same day all this happened I immediately changed my supply to a different company. How this company gets away outright theft with it’s mind blowing.

Being with this company is stressful and not worth the hassle.
I’m on my 6th call with them since 8 o’clock this morning after being cut of twice by a lady name Alisha and a man named Peter because they were unable to sort the problem. My meter has been automatically topping up taking money out my bank account but not showing on the app payments nor on my meter. Top ups of £60 plus have been taken out of my bank from Utilita without my permission and has not even been added to my meter? I called in and was given top up codes without my permission when I didn’t make the transactions. I asked them is there some kind of automatic system that can request top ups? I have no clarity just out of pocket £60. I don’t think they care at all about their customers, they are more interested in profit without service. Customer service are clueless but that’s a representation of the company as a whole, customer service representatives in the prepaid department are rude and unprofessional what a horrible experience. Very unfortunate. 4 hours as of now!

Not long had a sales man at the door, he said he was here to read the meter and then when he gained entry he started his sales pitch. He stated Utilita owned the smart meters (not true), lied about the price difference, saying it was hundreds rather than under £100 difference. Tried to drive a fast hard loud sale, meshed with lies and falsehood. If the product is good there's no need for lies, especially when bills are high, I'm sure most would like a cheaper energy bill. I declined his sale. Beware, don't answer the door!

extremely dodgy had sales man at my door I couldn't get rid off at first he tried to trick me saying he had come to fit a smart meter I told him not had any app from eon to come and fit one he then told me they don't sent appointments, we just turn up asked him directly 3 times if he was from eon he said he just fitted smart meters it's not eon that come out. then gave me a load of jargon. at least 8 times I told this guy I will do my own research before looking to change he then told me they own the meters and basically I was one of few left in the street that needed this smart meter fitting . said don't care if I'm only one left in the city I will do my own research. he was then pushing for my phone number ended up saying look I really need to go I've got get ready for work. Good bye ! sounds good whst he offered but his initial lies and trickery put me completely off using this company . by the way I'm sales trained and have done various sales jobs in the past and attempting to fool the customer isn't the way moving forward. re train your staff .

Just knocked out front door and said Utilita owned our meter and he wanted to see our meter. No they don't own the meter at all. Told the guy our flat was private and he said he knew it was. Tried to get us to have a smart meter fitted with them. Obviously dishonest cowboys.

Adding an 'edit' to the above review as yesterday they came again. The man asked if I was the tenant to which I said, no I am the leaseholder. Same thing, he said. Told him someone had already been a few months ago and he asked me what day, what time, was it an Indian guy? If they don't know who has been and when why are they asking me? Obviously don't know what they are doing.

What a disgrace. Sold lies to my elderly grandparents. Both have issues with anxiety disorder and depression.
Left them without electric for over 24 Hours and still haven't sorted it. Installed meter but no way to top up. Don't go with these selfish scamming evil people

After reading the reviews on the site must say I'm surprised. We had a fitter called Bernie who came to fit our meter. And I must say I was very impressed. This guy was friendly and professional. Respectful to our house quick and efficient and a nice guy to boot . As a ambassador for the company I couldn't be happier with Bernie. I hope we find the rest of the service as good.

Just spent 45 minutes waiting to speak to someone. Finally someone answered. Starting dealing with my issue. Amazingly they cannot see what's coming off your meter on a daily basis. Had to email screen shots. Then had to go and look into something - disappeared for 10 minutes and then cut me off. 10 minutes waiting for them to call me back - least they could do. Nothing! Disgusted. I'm changing my supplier after this.
