Just spent a lovely weekend break at this hotel and, being honest, we couldn’t find fault if we tried! I have to say, having stayed at other Warner hotels and the room standards offered, I personally was a little apprehensive about ‘chalet’ style accommodation, especially reading some of the mixed reviews on here.||Well, clearly there is a spectrum of room quality with some chalets having being refurbished and some that haven’t. Ours was just fine, clean, well kept and absolutely warm and cosy with an unbelievably comfortable bed. Yes, it was small but yet plenty of storage space, wardrobe, drawer space etc. And it turned out this was not one of the refurbished ones, (Sycamore 001), met all of our needs and was a pleasure to come back to after a nice evening out.||So that’s the accommodation, now the rest of it;… Obviously buffet style dining is not everyone’s cup of tea but you know that when you book. Personally I like buffet dining as I don’t like big portions and prefer to try a few different dishes. To this end the choice and quality of food here is impressive. Not to mention that my partner is vegan and still the choice was good.||The waiting staff here were all with it and on the ball, highly attentive and pleasant with it. Basically all the staff we encountered at Gunton were genuinely friendly and exceptionally nice,…a real credit to the establishment.||I guess, like us, the visiting entertainment group at the time is part of the booking criteria. We selected this particular weekend to see ‘Skyfall’, Adele tribute band, and we weren’t disappointed, wow! fantastic performance. But credit too to the other guys, Guntons’ resident entertainment team who put on some stunning shows for the rest of the weekend.||No surprise then that we have booked to return to Gunton the same weekend next year. Yes, we would have been more than happy to stay in Sycamore 001 again, but we did go for a refurbished one, ONLY, because a walk in shower is a ‘nice to have’ option.||Lovely place, lovely people.||Thank you for a great weekend.

We had a wonderful time st Gunton Hall. Our first visit asa Warner guest. Our experience was relaxing and very enjoyable. We stayed four nights in a garden lodge overlooking the lake. We were able to see plenty of wildlife including ducks, birds, swans and muntjaks. Meal times were excellent with a wide variety of meals along with first class service. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the leisure facilities including the pool, table tennis and pool. We would have liked to participate in crazy golf but the terrain was too wet and muddy. The evening entertainment was also excellent. There are also lots of wonderful places outside the complex to visit. We were very lucky to visit a local beach to watch grey seals basking on the beach! A really enjoyable few days away and we will definitely be returning. Thank you Warner x

A nice weekend away. The rooms were good, comfortable beds and a separate lounge area. Small bath and comfortable bathroom. The food was good, better than expected. The entertainment was OK and the crowd (who probably averaged 70) seemed to enjoy it. Quizzes were V well attended but we didn't make any. Location and site were nice , must be lovely in the summer. Drinks and snacks were too expensive for the venue and so lots of people watching he'd entertainment with no drinks at all. £3.75 for a coke is a scandal and a huge mistake to overcharge.. They would make more money if prices were better as more people would buy them. Having said all that a good value short break.

4 night/5 day midweek showtime break. Accommodation is in chalets in landscaped grounds (although these don't look at their best in winter). Chalets are clean and comfortable, generous tea/coffee tray, and spa-quality toiletries. Dedicated table for every meal (choose this when you arrive before picking up your key) in bright, roomy restaurant. Food is plentiful, varied, and delicious. Loads of different activities throughout the day, both bookable and turn-up in the lounge, sports hall, gym, theatre and swimming pool. Outdoor activities limited by damp and cold weather. Excellent evening entertainment from 8pm until late. Really friendly, helpful staff. Described by someone as like a cruise without getting on a boat. Be as active or relaxed as the mood takes you. Coffee Shop in lounge is a good idea but the hot drinks are a bit pricey. Clientele is mainly retired with a smattering of 50+. Overall good value for money.

Lovely grounds, good food with plenty of choice for all tastes. Swimming pool is lovely and there is a lot of good walking in the woods and around the lake. The hall itself and chalet rooms are a little tired, and could do with a makeover to make it more modern and cheerful. The entertainments team are all good singers (Lucie being the best female singer by far, and she is based on site!). It would be nice to vary the entertainment by not having every night just singing acts though? Overall very good if you want a quiet time away. Better for the gentile folk.

Great place, brilliant entertainment, great breakfast dinner not brilliant but you can always find something. rooms are great. We have stayed in three different rooms so far and all been very clean and well maintained. All the staff are very polite and very helpful. I would highly recommend you visit. Treat yourself to booking a VIP seat in the lounge which gives you a complementary drink each night and great seats to watch the act.

I am writing this as a previous visitor to Gunton Hall.|However our past couple of visits just after lockdown were dreadful in lots of ways.|Firstly the facilities went un kempt for too long.|The food was truly dreadful in both quality and preparation.|Not being able to buy a drink at the bar was frustrating and waiting for waiter service long winded.|Sadly and regrettably it was time to move on and look for something else.|We stumped up more than double last year to give Potters a try.|Let me say that despite their claims of being a 5 star resort with food to match,it really is not.|The food was canteen quality at best.|Drinks service from order points was slow and frustrating and the staff we found not very engaging.Big and expensive dissapointment.|We therefore came back to Gunton this year for the Jersey boys weekend and so glad we did.|We stayed in a garden lodge which was excelent.Well maintained and warm which was nice on such a cold and wet weekend.|Food was very good.Certainly not Michelin star but very good considering the amount of people being catered for.|I think also that the buffet service works well despite my initial concerns.|No problem with food being cold.Everythin was how it should have been.|Apart from Yorkshire puddings on sunday evening being inedible.|Drinks prices throughout are certainly too expensive and maybe Warners should take a serious look at this.|The main sports hall is in serious need of some refurbishment and some warming heaters.|Half the gas heaters overhead didnt seem to work and the small electric wall heaters are pointless apart from burning electricity for no good reason.|The entertainment team were excelent.Engaging and good fun.|Not sure why some previous reviews have complained about the Crackerjax singers.|They were perfectly fine.|Only downside to Crackerjax performances was two annoying women trying to drag everyone onto the dance floor as if leading the way.Very annoying and deluded.|Just let people enjoy themselves in their own way!|Jersey boys were absolutely brilliant and stayed behind afterwards for a couple of drinks in the bar.|The Keith Deller darts afternoon was very good too.|So after all that we are so relived that Gunton is getting back to its best.|We cant wait to go back and hopefully soon.

Well Warner's have certainly captured the over fifties market.Rooms first class clean , shower excellent and plenty of coffee, tea, biscuits and drinks on arrival. The food is really good with a variety so accommodates every taste.A really excellent program of things to keep you occupied including a warm swimming pool with hot boc, sauna.Just to opinions (not complaints) one the drinks are really expensive as a comparison my local sells dumba beer for£1.79 the same at gunton hall was £5.60. the other is the cabaret, there is a really good resident singer between 8.30 and for the cabaret, blow me another singer and I really am not interested in there history (which may I add the x factor singer had half his relations there and kind of took over with whistling and the rest, this was last year I didn't stay for this year's performance as he had the same repertoire) and he was boring. However don't let this put you off,the resident team keep us all busy and work hard. Well done Warner's I will be back.
