having upgraded from BT copper 60Mbps to 250Mbs my expectations were high. Yes, a fair bit cheaper as no landline cost, but I have found a lag when going to websites that wasn't there before; a bit like initial buffering. Not huge, but noticeable and the affect increases with distance. On balance, with free installation, Wessex was a good choice. I have had to have a booster and will probably need another one to reach all rooms in my house and a fiver a month for each, that’s an extra cost you might well need to consider. The lights on the OTP are bright and annoying as they can't be turned down/off like their router can be. Installation was pretty good with easy access to online help

The garden team arrived as five plus machinery. They explained how they were going to lay the fibre under our lawn and gravel drive. I think they worked like trojans and made it look easy, and left it neat and tidy. Then Jimmy arrived later to connect up the fibre to the new hub. Again it was all done very professionally and neatly. Their Nokia hub provides excellent coverage all over the house. Since then I have fitted a VOIP Adapter to my original BT phone setup and have been able to dump BT, who I don't believe were ever going to give us full fibre.

The whole process was seamless. The groundwork was considerate, the installation was professional and all staff were friendly and knowledgable. All my appliances including my glass tv is working well

I am so looking forward to giving Wessex five stars when our internet service is working everywhere. We are a month in and it’s still patchy and there is absolutely no connection upstairs. This is such a shame and deep frustration, as dealing with Wessex is generally a good experience, especially if you’re lucky enough to get Lucy’s help.
Setting up the booster wasn’t easy and I am waiting for the second one to arrive so upstairs has WiFi. I also wish that the line had come into the house in a better place but I did as the engineer advised and now my whole office and all the hardwires have nowhere to go. That was all a big mistake - I strongly recommend getting an independent engineer to advise as it’s going to be very expensive to rectify moving forward.
It’s a confusing change after so many years with BT, but I think I’m glad I’ve done it … I will review again when we are properly functional. Meanwhile my family are still livid with me for deciding to change and for the upheaval to have taken so so long to settle down. I have been asked for this review today and am just sad that it is not a more enthusiastic and positive one.
There is still much to sort and I just wish I had got speedier support.
I hope things will improve soon.

Excellent installation. We hired a local electrician to tidy up the various wiring. We are not happy with the quality of the telephone calls. there seems to be a lot of unwanted "noise" on the line.

I think we were one of the first houses in Chitterne to be connected. I had watched with fascination the Ditch Witch tunneling away and cables popping up in various gardens. Ours arrived with minimal disturbance and after various teams doing their allocated tasks we were live. Download jumped from around 18 to 95 immediately. It could go up to 250 if we used a higher spec cable. The service was excellent with the team routing the cable discretely around our house. A couple of teething problems were quickly resolved by their helpful after sales team. All in all a satisfied customer. PS I never give five stars to any company, just incase.

The Garden team turned up on time and did a great job although they had to finish digging by hand as there mole plough broke down in the middle of the gateway, but no drama. The installation team were in and done really quickly. And now have an amazing broadband speed.

I would like to give a positive review about the service and buying experience but neither is possible. So lets start with the fact that I signed up for the service over a year ago and I still don't have it! Around mid March 2025 I got a call to say that finally part one of the installation was ready to be done which was an overhead cable to my property and that once complete it would be followed up with part 2 which will be the completion of the connection and installation of the router. A week or so after the call the guys arrived and connected the cable from the pole to the eve of my property and they said that it would be very soon that I would get a call from the team to complete the installation as my property isn't that far away from the Wessex Internet office. Three weeks went by and I had no contact so I called them and was told that on the system my property isn't confirmed as ready for stage 2 by the Network Team but that they would make enquiries and would call me back. Nobody called me back and this has been the case whenever I've called since which is five or six times with each time the person saying they will look into it and speak to their manager. So on the last call I made a couple of days ago I said that if the service isn't connected by the end of July 2025 I will insist on the cable being removed from my property. I appreciate that there can be issues with new infrastructure but not calling me back to actually explain why I still don't have a completed installation and instead just a cable dangling down my wall with the rest of it in a reel on the ground is very bad customer service and doesn't give me a lot of hope that even if they do manage to complete the work by the end of July 2025 that the service will be reliable but given I'm yet to recieve a single call back I'm pretty sure I'll be heading to Starlink anyway
