Westward Energy service the pair of Valliant boilers at the offices I manage in Okehampton, Devon. There have been unexpected breakdowns and Westward have always provided a great service and put matters right. The initial installation was identified as not having sufficient expansion chamber space and Westward cured this by fitting another expansion cylinder. We now have a system that works well.
Westward have the knowhow for sophisticated things like ground source heat pumps, solar and similar, as well as the standard boil set up. This is rare in this part of the world.

I used to use Peter Mares, Westward Energy a lot when I lived in Okehampton. He used to regularly service my gas central heating boiler and I was happy with him. We then moved house and no longer need his services.
I then had issues with my Esse Range Cooker as the door catch wasn't working. I contacted Esse and found out that Peter Mares Westward Energy was an Esse Service Engineer. Wow what a difference in his customer service. It's terrible. I phone him to book an appointment and it took me 6 weeks just to get a date to service my Esse. Whilst I wasn't in a rush I was amazed that it takes 6 weeks to book an appointment with several chase up phone calls. I explained to Peter that I had a problem with my Cooker door and when he turned up he didn't have the parts to repair my Cooker door properly which was slightly disappointing.
After Christmas I had another problem with my Esse Cooker so I phoned Peter again to book an appointment. I acknowledge that he might be busy at this time of the year but I just wanted a date. After a week I hadn't heard anything so I phoned Peter again to be told that he couldn't give me a date as he was busy. I told him that I don't believe he is busy every day for 2017 and asked to be given a date. Peter was quite short with me and told me that he couldn't give ma a date as he was to busy. I get the impression that he doesn't have the experience to repair my Esse and so therefore he won't give me a date. If this is the case I would rather be told that he can't do the job rather than be left hanging.
Whilst his workmanship is ok if not a little expensive his customer service is appalling.
If you value customer service I wouldn't recommend Peter Mares, Westward Energy. There are plenty of other heating engineers in the area with better service in my opinion.
